It’s the first time I’ve seen this particular presenter on World News.

(She was presenting from Studio E).

Thanks.

Luxmy Gopal.
As seen on BBC Newswatch
Ah. So that’s Luxmy!

She was excellent.
<t>I taught them everything......</t>

Only recently did Luxmy Gopal become a newsreader, but she was a reporter for Look North (Leeds), not sure if she still is though. She also does reports for national BBC News bulletins and the News Channel.

About the World News simulcast, I know she has been on both the NC & World News at least twice so far.

I do wish though that they'd place a label with her name above the ticker as they do with nearly all other presenters.
This may be wishful thinking on my part, but after 8 years of it being essentially the same (other than Reithed numbers + DOG in 2019), I feel like a refresh to the countdown music and visuals is long overdue, and continue to hope for a change in October with the corporate rebrand.

If there was, it would be nice to see some satellite dish shots with the data streams added again (like they used to have pre-2013) except from the satellite farm at NBH, and not TVC. I've never quite understood why the streams have flown directly into the building since the move, rather than across the satellite dishes.

I suppose not all picture comes in via satellite dishes anymore, but I agree they were a nice touch in the pre-NBH countdowns.
Just caught up with Vigil on Iplayer from last week and it was interesting to hear the News Channel referred to as 'News 24'
Going by the news channel schedules it looks like the 11pm edition of Newsday will no longer be simulcasted on the news channel from tonight.

Or maybe not as it seems the scheduling template needs updating again!
Completely hypothetical question here but say in the newsroom where studio e, is there space for another studio in there, maybe for bbc world :?:

If only that was the drama's only inaccuracy !

I'd say at the present time there is no extra space for another set in what is Studio E as both C & E's set structures (the set itself, if you get my drift) are dupes of each other in terms of set plans. Also I think you could load one set of camera "patterns" in E that work in C because of this.

And incidentally along a certain tangent to your question. Here is a link to a PDF about the Broadcasting House development and on one of the sheets there is what appears to be two 1999-2003 BBC News 24 style studio slots overlooking the newsroom. So there was something in the original plan but it must have been abandoned. Also given the size and scope of Studio C for example there would have to be some major renovation work to the newsroom to remove working space for it to happen, even in Studio E.

Plus there would be the added complication of having to schedule the studios so that they don't "see" each other live.

P.S. I cannot remember where I got this document originally but have hosted it on my Amazon Drive for posterity.

Did I imagine it or did the opening for the Six change today? After the regional opt in the headlines it seemed to transition to the titles and no newsroom camera shot.
Some issues during the TOTH for the Six. Clive having to resort to his notes during the headlines + the Network opt out (usually a preview for BBC Sport) replaced with a vaccination graphic.
They're both women and that trumps regionality; ITV guidelines

It was perfectly as normal in my region

Maybe you region opted back in late?

I watched Scotland’s back on iplayer and they were potentially running late but made it for the 6 appearing with the ‘doo doo’ > newsroom shot > catwalk top story
