This is the most surreal televisual broadcast I have seen in a long, long time. There is literally a mistake, jarring piece of presentation or awkward silence between the presenters every two or three minutes seemingly on rotation throughout the day.

Every time I log back on, within five minutes, my brow becomes furrowed looking though the gaps in my fingers due to the astounding lack of preparedness as highlighted in all ***58*** pages of discussion so far.

I'll pick up on a couple of things. Alex's Agenda is literally her spouting off the topics she is into today, and then goes into the weather of all things ruining any sense of continuity. But credit (I can't believe I'm saying this) to Dan Wootton, who's monologue actually appeared to set the agenda for his show. It looked like Simon had experienced a culture shock. Monologues are meant to be monologues, with one person in shot, otherwise you get the strained look on Simon's face which is totally distracting.

It's bugging me the way they're saying our "family" of presenters who are "so talented". Simon said it sounds cheesy and it is, just say "team". The Wales reporter is the best I've seen on the channel so far, but even he didn't get any camera shots, vox-pop or evidence to back up anything he said.

And the 3pm handover was almost a disaster, imagine it could have been Grenfell they were discussing while Liam and Gloria went off set giggling hysterically , I thought it would be engrained to remain quiet before mics are taken off your clothing, as those types of mistakes happen in the best run news operations.

It's shoddy and it has no right to call itself a news channel at the moment. I like another poster was hoping it would be an edgy Times Radio TV, which I find really engaging and hit the ground running with an interview with the Prime Minister with few tech issues. I'm a bit disappointed so far.

Cards on the table I genuinely thought from today I could get my news from GB News. But I can't as there's no actual news bulletins, not even a 5 minute upsummer on the half-hour.

How they cover the Boris announcement tonight will, I think, be quite the insight. Wootton will have plenty to say later - don't we kind of need to see and hear Boris to put it all into context? I fear there won't be as much as a single "Alas" from our glorious leader. I hope I'm wrong.

Something else that I noticed, the breaks in between headlines in the ticker are off-center as well, seemingly right-justified!

It's a shame they're not broadcasting on YouTube - was it ever confirmed that they were doing so or was that just a rumour? Hoping they add a stream soon.

EDIT: According to my own post a month ago, they said we'd be able to "watch live, 24/7 on YouTube". It does well for Sky and (sometimes) talkRADIO so I'm hoping it comes soon.

I don't know if they said, but last time I checked, Tyne Tees was an ITV region... also I don't like the presenterless weather...

Strapline at the bottom going into the break just said:-

"Have you ever dated a N."

Should have said narcissist and this should have been split into two rows, rather than the word being cut off. McCoy also said the presenters were facing a similar "challenge" to dentists, before he awkwardly moved abruptly forward and thanked his interviewee. Probably heard someone in his ear.

Editorially I have to question whether this station knows what it wants to be.

Andrew Neil's opening talked of (and I paraphrase) being there to give a voice to a section of society that doesn't have one (and from his pre launch comments it's clear which section he refers to).

Kirsty Gallagher is talking this morning of being the station for the whole of the UK.

Surely it can't be both?

It is appealing to the working class, mainly leave type voters although now that is over with, I'd say just working classes. They/we are everywhere so I think they can do that. It's not only exclusively, working classes, but mainly. I'd say it will expand as it goes on. A lot of "woke" issues don't just effect the working classes.

I'm sorry, but I absolutely cannot let this ignorant comment stand. The working class is not a homogeneous group. The majority of black people in this country are working class for example, and what you describe as "woke" issues matter a great deal to them. Class was not a reliable indicator of how people voted in the referendum, either. I've been told before that I'm a member of the "metropolitan elite" despite growing up on a council estate and just about getting by.

I think we all know the target audience of this channel, but you cannot just say the working class.

Come down from the high horse please, I find it equally ignorant that you assume because someone is black they care about certain things. May I ask who you think the channel targets? In fact thinking about it why did you even mention race?

More 'technical issues' now. Understandably this will continue for a period of time, but the frequency of issues makes me think the broadcast of the channel has been under-rehearsed with the technical team (I don't think the presenters are unprepared, they are just hindered by the tech problems)
