From reading comments on here, and on other YouTube channels etc, I am now feeling that GB News is in for a big fall.

There is a lot of people online who are delighted that GB News is launching, but I have a feeling they are going to be very disappointed, as looking at their schedules, I see far too many three hour blocks, which I feel will be off putting to viewers.

Appointment to view programming on CNN, MSNBC, FOX are nearly all just one or maybe two hour programme slots. Only their breakfast shows tend to air for three hours. The likes of Anderson Cooper on CNN, Rachel Maddow, Brian Williams, Chris Hayes on MSNBC, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham on FOX are all one hour programmes on weeknights.

CNN I think does extend more with Jake Tapper and Wolf Blitzer on for two hour blocks.

I feel three hour blocks are just too long.

GB News could really do with having two or three big scoops up their sleeves, scoops newsworthy enough to be covered by other media.

I would have thought an exclusive interview with a senior minister or even the PM would be likely for the launch.

Apparently three-hour block scheduling is straight out of radio (almost every station)'s playbook. They usually follow these start/stop times as a pattern.

I'd only take examples from the speech stations 'cause they're relevant and it'd be tiresome to name every one which use the rule.

The ticker can't be too small, or else it'll be unreadable on the sub SD Freeview stream

However, they may well just be testing sizes etc out, to see how it looks 'off air'. I'm sure they weren't expecting anyone to be watching at 2am this morning ?

It's going to be a bit rough for the first six months etc, seeing as it is a brand new channel, and what works on paper may not work in real life, or Ideas they have might not work well etc etc. Think of anything today which is a big success, and go back to the beginning and see what it looked like!

What happens if something breaks at say 1 in the morning which is very serious will they just not cover it until the breakfast show at 6 or will they always have somebody in the building just in case that happens

With that being said, in case Piers manage to be a part of GB News, channel's ratings could go pretty high, one can imagine. GMB, on the other hand, is still in a freefall with 450k viewers tuning in - figures recorded last Thursday.

And then there's this... Honestly, it's still in "who knows" territory at the moment.
