Because casting calls are put together by some of the most junior members of staff on production and they are probably just reusing what was on file from last year.

Hope it's not from Mo's house - last time C4 broadcast live from there is was a disaster!
I think I'd have preferred them to do four shows on location across the UK if the house wasn't available, but intrigued to see what they come up with. Essentially they only need a lounge, kitchen and bedroom, plus a space (presumably outdoors) for competitions.

Find one of the houses on Brookside Close, it has Channel 4 history

Until it's confirmed by The Big Breakfast themselves, i'll take that piece of info with a pinch of salt.

If it was from Lock Keepers Cottages there is no reason why they wouldn't have confirmed it already. It always looked likely it would come from somewhere else.
@Brekkietweets
I heard it’s coming from Dick and Dom’s bungalow.
Whilst it would lose a lot to not be coming from the Cottages, the show has such a strong aesthetic- the bold colours, fried egg wallpaper, French windows, picket fence etc- they could sort of mitigate doing it anywhere if they somehow combine those elements.

No, there's not. Please keep a civil tongue, DeMarkay.

This is NOT the kind of behaviour I expect from a verified user of this forum DeMarkay. If this kind of attitude continues, you'll be out of here.

I disagree actually. I think that would have felt temporary. If they can’t use the original house, thr best alternative is to use a house/location they know can likely be hired again when needed. Give it a new home which could become “permanent” and plan beyond August. Future-proof the show and make it as easy as possible for it to be recommissioned again.
At least that’s what I’d be doing if I was producing this next run.

I think most of that show was still based at the house, though. It's featured in outtakes compilations because Richard Bacon was doing the paper review on location and made a child cry. They cut back to Mike McClean and Amanda Byram at the house to show their reactions. As an aside, Mike talks in his book about how much he didn't like working with Amanda.

They definitely aired a full show on location at least one more time after this - they gave viewers the chance to have the show come from their home in its dying months and broadcast a full episode from the chosen house. They billed it as the last time the show would ever be on location. I think it might have been in the penultimate week.

The last on location show came from Barnsley from a viewers house, Ashley Copley was the person who won it which aired on the Monday 3rd September 2001.

Assuming we're talking about the same programme, I don't think it can be classified as being on location. Not in the same way as when the entire show was broadcast away from the Big Breakfast house for The Bigger Breakfast or the one-offs in France, Blackpool and Dublin. Parts of the show we're talking about were still broadcast from the house. It just had a bigger OB element.
