If that’s the case it might be worth moving Morgan to 10pm if they still want to make that work and make Kyle’s new show a 2 hour slot at 8pm.

10pm would still be competing with the news so I would guess 7pm or 9pm and TBH 10pm would be seen as a demotion compared to 8pm.

Well I’m basing it on the 10pm slot apparently doing better already. But it depends whether it’s people just not liking Morgan enough or there is more of a space for this kind of thing at 10pm, which seems improbable in the News at 10 slot but they wouldn’t be competing with primetime TV.

According to this article, The Talk got 300 viewers yesterday. I didn't know that BARB would count so low.

One BARB panellist extrapolates to roughly 5,100 viewers.   So if one watched for one minute it would get a 60 minute slot average of 85.  If they watched for 3.5 minutes it would be 297.5.

Should be a zero rating!

It's obvious to me that the talent pool with TalkTV is not working in their current slots. Piers Morgan is trying to be a shock jock but in reality, he is out of his depth. He calls his show 'Uncensored' when it is anything but especially as he talks too much without giving much time to his guests. If I was Scott Taunton running the channel, this would be my schedule:

11am-12pm - Cristo Foufas
12pm-1pm - Politics Hour (Ideally with John Pienaar)

What is TalkTV News? Surely it would make sense to expand and use the News Desk branding for any hour long News based show?

That schedule would need to be separated from the talkRADIO output or the old audience is completely gone and GB News are getting handed the viewers on a silver platter. I already think that having things like the Mark Saggers show (more talkSPORT than talkRADIO) and Tom Newton Dunn (more TimesRadio style) simulcasted on talkRADIO doesn't work at all.

I personally don't think that one hour radio shows are the answer either (the one with Daisy needs two hours to have a chance IMO). Might be fine for TV but I don't think you can adequately squeeze in phone ins and sufficient guests in a one hour show. Can't imagine the presenters would be thrilled with it either. Kevin has had his hours considerably cut and seems to be squeezing a lot of his regular guests from weeknights into a 3 hour Sunday show. Cutting his hours further will probably make it unfeasible.

The Saturday night offering with Mike Graham & Kevin O'Sullivan followed up by James Whale does work (they certainly get considerably higher viewers on YouTube than the daytime output) and I think they should keep that. Shows that are more lightweight in offering but do appeal to the average talkRADIO listener.

Yes I wonder if they need to do TalkTV as a separate entity and kind of “opt in” to the different radio stations at certain times?

Like has been noted, News Desk would work on TimesRadio. Piers probably doesn’t need to be simulcast and then there’s some TalkSport shows that would probably work, but you don’t want to duplicate by having sports shows on TalkRadio.

Interesting from Guido, who also state that Wootton beat Sky News last night & Daisy McAndrew got 0% at 10pm on TalkTV.

A hard balancing act, because it took GB News time to find an audience but then they had more to play around with. TalkTV literally have the 3 hour long shows in the evening, so you cannot totally overall everything. Although, Wootton is one of the only shows in the same slot as launch (just minus 1 hour).

Talk TV had a bigger launch than GB news. I am surprised it’s ratings have struggled so much.
