Super Sunday back on location, and at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time since before the first lockdown in March 2020.

They were on location quite a bit at the start of the season, but it’s certainly the first time they have been on location since the start of this lockdown.

I suspect we'll see some adjustment of KO times next Saturday in the run up to, during and after the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral. The main match affected would seem to be the PL fixture between Wolves and Sheffield United (Sky) that is currently scheduled to start at 3pm. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the BBC FACupSF match Kickoff delayed until a later start time. Currently it's KO is timed for 1730. Other Sporting events in the UK will be affected to.

Considering how they treated the football on BBC4 on the day of his death it would be very surprising if BBC1 showed a live match on the evening of his funeral. The Sunday semi-final doesn't kick off till 6.30pm so I'd be surprised if it isn't moved to Sunday afternoon with a kick off probably no later than 2pm.

You do realise the BBC has no control over a football match being shown not to mention an FA Cup semi final is a much bigger deal than a football match on BBC Four.

That’s not strictly true. The broadcasters dictate the kick off times. Also how important or not football match is, is irrelevant. The point is they deemed it disrespectful to show a football match.

Of course they may have had a change of heart by the day of the funeral or regard it as less of an issue.

Interesting they advertised it with the scheduled 5.10pm start time after Line of Duty. I thought they might just say "Next weekend".

The FA will absolutely be discussing it with the "stakeholders", of which the broadcaster is one of the most important. The FA will want the match on BBC1 and be realistic. If the funeral had been 11am, perhaps even 1pm, I don't think a 5.30pm kick-off would be much of an issue, but starting coverage barely an hour after the funeral finishes and then probably having funeral coverage following the match in the absense of any early evening news is probably something neither the FA or the BBC want.

Sky Sports The Hundred will replace Sky Sports Cricket for the duration of the tournament with " a significant number" of men's matches and all Women's games also streamed on Youtube. All games will also be on Sky Sports Mix.

I presume part of the thinking for having Andrew Flintoff presenting The Hundred Cricket is that it fits well with the purpose of the competition, to draw younger fans to the game of Cricket.

moving to Sunday does present some logistical challenges for the production teams: both semifinals are at Wembley, but the BBC and BT Sport use different OB providers for their FA Cup coverage. Moving the matches to be back-to-back might also present some Covid protocol issues in terms of keeping the teams separate and cleaning dressing rooms, etc (though I'd imagine there's a plan in place for non-league finals day)

The Premier League have moved the 15:00 KO Wolves v Sheffield United to 20:15, clearly to also avoid a clash with the FA Cup semi-final, so that looks like it's more or less staying in the same slot.

From the below, The FA Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Manchester City at Wembley is likely to remain at 17:30.

Further changes for Saturday with the Scottish Garnd National and Newbury moving to Sunday, National League matches to kick-off at 12:30 and Premiership Rugby moving to either 12:30 or 17:00.

Much talk over the weekend that the Guinness Pro14 Rainbow Cup is (to absolutely no ones surprise) now unlikely to take place in the format envisaged, with the SA sides unlikely to travel. Presumably the Pro14 teams will fulfil the three rounds of already scheduled derby fixtures but there will be three remaining weeks of fixtures to somehow fill.
