Is there a reason the newsroom hasn’t been lit up with the blue lights this weekend?

Because for the past month they have not been using the LIVE overview instead repeating the exact same view of newsroom on every single intro. I noticed this a few weeks ago and made a video on it.

True, but it's also not been lit up from a studio point of view. I think that's what Universal_r was getting at.
What studio is this that Ben Brown is in? Definitely not C or E, is this the virtual studio?

EDIT: Apparently its C with a different background graphic. For a moment it looked like it was A [the virtual studio], but the pan shot showed C.

Looks very different. Vivid colours.

That new background is far nicer than the old one. So much clearer and less washed out.

Agreed, the colours are really strong as Moz mentioned. I wonder if they've been using the trundle cam to acquire newer video clips like this while the other repair work was being done ?

It’s also really fake. Those screens at the side of the newsroom aren’t there are they?

Wait yeah, I just caught a better glimpse, I think you're definitely correct that there's definitely no screens at that part of the newsroom: that being said, I'm not entirely sure? I know there's screens directly opposite E, since obviously the cameras can see them in the background, but I don't recall any screens below where the trundle cam would be placed, from those wide shots from E in that direction.

It looks like the one they used in B during the local elections. I really like it, it makes studio C look more like E and as mentioned it looks less washed out. There is something about the ‘spaceship’ though that doesn’t look quite right not sure if it’s a bit big.
A "new fresh, bright news backing" for Studio C is how Chris Cook describes it. Note the "more to come" too.

I can’t really tell what’s meant to be lit up in blue, it’s not the pillars like the real newsroom as they’re just lit up white but there is a blue colour to it.
The perspective/angle on that backdrop shot is quite weird. It just about works with the medium close up of the presenter. But shifting to a wider shot (especially with other parts of the physical set in frame) makes clear how unrealistic it is - as if the studio is on a slope, at risk of sliding backwards into the newsroom.
This looks brilliant - I look forward to the daytime version if indeed it’s also been updated.
