Catching up with Erin Burnett Outfront and I see she was in Studio 19Z in New York for the first time in ages rather than being stuck in a flash studio.
EDIT: Also saw that Chris did Cuomo Prime Time from in Studio 19Y for the start of his show yesterday.

It flabbergasts me that CNN International thinks a show about pasta is more important that showing Hala Gorani Tonight.
So, in effect, there will be no international news until 5am tomorrow morning. What has this channel become?!

I agree, it's pathetic to see what it's become.
But the extra money that the sponsored pasta and Africa programmes bring to the company is more important to them than anything else.
Even First Move and Quest Means Business are useless for a global round-up these days... it's just US, US, US... It's not a reliable service if you're in Aus, Asia or Europe.
One World and QMB have been shortened to 45 minutes most days, in order to squeeze in more repeat showings of the money-making sponsored taped programming...
Pre COVID-19, the hour occupied by One World used to have 30 minutes of taped programming Tuesday to Friday, so in isolation that hour is now better than it was. Plus at least all the taped programming after One World is about Africa, so fits in with the general 'theme' of the hour

From a business point of view, I can understand sponsored programming. However, why are the US simulcasts never touched? The Lead could have made way for pasta because The Lead, The Situation Room, Erin Burnett, A360 and the other two ego maniacs have basically the same content.
Who would mind if a 15 minute block was taken from New Day for Inside Afrca? Likewise, for the weekends, Smerconish could be replaced by an hour of African programming.
I’ve switched to BBC of late and content wise, they wipe the floor with CNN.

More golf on Tuesday, from 9pm GMT to 3am GMT.
CNN US simulcast on now, not sure why or for how long. No sign of Hala, Quest etc. If anyone even remembers them..... :?:

Quest did One World at 5pm until 6pm UK
Hala did 6pm until 7pm UK
CNN US simulcast started at 7pm UK (...until tomorrow?)
This all meant there was no Amanpour and no Quest Means Business.
I saw the CNN US simulcast and there was no reason whatsoever editorially why QMB couldn't have aired. Instead, they made us suffer the usual CNN US infotainment panel of contributors chatting away about US domestic matters and Trump.
The Trump story they were going on about could have been reported and summarised by Quest in a relatable way for international viewers as part of an edition of QMB. But of course they didn't and they ditched International altogether. It's just any excuse for a CNN US simulcast these days...

Obviously they didn't take any notice of the complaints on social media about the other 5 hour US golf game they showed on CNN International a few months ago...

I'm not sure if this is necessary.

From which perspective? If you're a domestic viewer, it's probably newsworthy but for international viewer, probably not.

I’m by no means defending CNNI for showing golf, but the tournament are major sponsors of the channel so they are probably obliged. I mean, I certainly wouldn’t tuned in to CNN for golf.
CNN to be an Official Broadcaster for Expo 2020 Dubai
World’s #1 news network to uniquely cover one of the year’s most anticipated events across all platforms
As the eyes of the world turn towards the UAE from October-March for Expo 2020 Dubai, CNN will be an Official Broadcaster for the event, bringing unrivalled coverage to global audiences and staging a prominent presence at Expo itself.
The collaboration agreed between H.E. Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and Rani Raad, President, CNN Worldwide Commercial, provides CNN with unique access to all aspects of Expo 2020 Dubai and the use of broadcast locations from which to capture the event’s stories and atmosphere as well as engage with visitors and participants.
As an Official Broadcaster, CNN is planning live broadcasting from Expo 2020 Dubai, including flagship shows Connect the World with Becky Anderson, Quest Means Business and CNN Talk. The network is also developing feature programming – covering areas such as innovation¸ green issues and other pillars from the Expo agenda – across all global platforms including CNN Arabic. This content follows CNN’s preview Road to Expo series and distinctive digital initiatives and will be distributed globally via TV, digital and social platforms to reach hundreds of millions of people around the world both via CNN and its extensive network of affiliate broadcasters and publishers.
In addition, CNN is planning live and interactive activations across its various networks as well as on the ground at the Expo to engage and inspire those attending Expo 2020 Dubai.
