BFMTV weather presenter Virgilia Hess has had to leave her shift on the 4.30am-6am Prémiere Edition due to health issues on a temporary basis.

She's moving back to working for the BFM regional channels presenting weather bulletins through the day.

[mention]LukeHarrison[/mention] That mock TV station is known as TV Quatre. The project still is very much alive: although that particular website is now offline, they still maintain their YouTube channel and even update their social media.

It is a project led by a team of some members from the French equivalent of this space, Lenodal, which pioneered the first wave of web TV channels in France with WT4, later known as WBS TV. Some members of that team reunited and launched TVQ (alternate name) in 2017, as a satire web-TV channel mocking French TV in the 80s, imagining an alternate universe where Canal+ had not been licensed to broadcast, instead, the government supposedly giving it to a Italian real estate businessman, Giovanni del Paddington. The channel does not broadcast in a regular basis, and has aired three live broadcasts on YouTube which have been successful, all done with authentic 80s transmission materials, even with real life-like ad breaks! And that's what I know, sadly, but I hope somebody from that particular project is able to retell the story behind that project and WBS/WT4, because I might be wrong. I did really enjoy, however, the excellent projects done by these people!

France's television regulator the CSA has put CNEWS on notice for relegating the Government and left-wing party La France Insoumise speeches to slots overnight.

Since being taken over by Vincent Bolloré, the channel has skewed to the right.

CNEWS has until the end of the month to rectify the problem or will face sanctions.

Going by my recording this morning, the CNEWS/Europe 1 weekend simulcast is now only 60 minutes long between 8-9am, with CNEWS producing a Matinale programme for tv viewers only between 6-8am and 9-10am. Restoring the amount of live hours that was there before Europe 1 joined.

Two very different target audiences. When the entire thing was simulcasted on Europe 1 they had to revert to a more breakfast news format. Now it's back to mostly debate.

I'm surprised no one has told this in the midst of the CNEWS editorial policy debate, but TV5 Monde has relaunched quietly this weekend with a tweaked logo and new graphics from Dream On and Start-Rec, superseding their previous 2013 work. Very similar to the more flat approach other French channels are adopting, but with an interesting purpose of making the brand and the channel the first fully sustainable and eco-friendly satellite service, whilst remarking the channel's unique position on serving the French community worldwide, hence the globe/marker device, done with the form of the logo's typography, and stings filmed in many French, Belgian, Swiss and Québécoise natural landmarks.

Their news service hasn't been updated to reflect the new brand, other than a few minimal tweaks. The news brand dates from 2013, and was designed in-house, under supervision from Dream On.

Very nice, but I don't understand what is the point in putting the TV5 on top of MONDE, they could have left the logo as it was before. This reminds me when ARTE made rotated it's logo counterclockwise by 90°
EDIT - So I just checked the channel's livestream and I noticed that the channel's DOG also has TV5 on top of MONDE, and it may just be me......but I find it a lot more intrusive then the previous DOG, and BTW I really love the new stings and branding!

France 3 has now revealed the successors of their iconic marmot mascots. Meet the silkie chickens (an actual species of chicken from China apparently)! This trio of fluffy cluckers named Cot, Kot and Cotte will be causing mayhem on French TV screens through the festive season.

These idents were designed by Dream On, which also created the marmottes. Personally, I find the poules a worthy but tough replacement for the popular marmottes, because it will need to succeed with viewers, and many finding them jarring and fluffy during its first day on air on social media. France 3 must be cautious with viewer reaction to make the poules a long-term success.

The arrangement is to create a negative space between the V in TV5 and M in MONDE, forming the triangle as shown in the geometric sting. But it is certainly a weird placement indeed-maybe there will be new graphics focusing on the 'basic shapes' in their wordmark, a la M6 etc?
