Not sure if anyone saw the 6 last night at 7.30 with George Alagiah..... but of course George was in the Newsroom and in studio E at the same time. Big Grin

I wonder how many people will contact Newswatch about #trundlecam this week.

I remember when the old Breakfast loop had the same person walking through the newsroom repeatedly which was featured on Newswatch and they had to re-record it.

Hopefully this means the return of the touchscreen because that really makes the show IMO. It’s basically just another bulletin of world news just now although Ros Atkins detailed and in depth descriptions of the stories he covers does make it better than the standard world news bulletins.

Sounds interesting, I wonder what it is that they’re going to be using. One of the comments suggests AR. Not sure how good that would look in studio C if they’re still going to be using that.

I guess the touchscreen has been taken down completely due to the pandemic. It's not surprising really: it didn't really get used much afaik. Only OS, recent Elections and the weather were presented from it, and the few weather bulletins that did use it weren't touching the screen anyway. I wonder what the change will be to OS, guessing augmented reality graphics?

EDIT: Ros confirming they'll be back on the balcony studio with the new look to OS. I was wondering whether OS would be continuing to broadcast from Studio C or not Big Grin

Glad to see the balcony returning, I always liked that studio and much prefer it to the current studio C set up.

Just had a thought that this could be the reason the trundle cam isn’t currently in use, it could be getting used for rehearsals if it’s moving back to the balcony.

I think the touchscreen might actually be gone so that will give them some more space up there.

I think that screen does still gets used for weather forecasts - predominantly by the London based regional weather hub and when London covers a regional programme e.g. Sara Thornton when she isn't in the region.

I think that's 54D, the home of BBC Persia and Newsnight. I don't think you could have OS (or replacement) in there as it's already in use at those times.

EDIT: On a closer look, it's 34D, the home of BBC Arabic.
