Farewell...
There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said, but regardless - thanks to Rob and the moderators for all their efforts with this forum. It’s been great to have a place where we could migrate to en masse after TV Forum closed and it’s been a very worthy successor.

A big shame that it’s ended this way but there are things far more important than running an internet forum of course, so fair play to you Rob and I wish you the very best.

I’m on Metropol and have joined up to Pres Café and TV Talk Forum as Ant, so will hopefully see you all on the other side(s).

Thanks,
Ant
OK time for me to say goodbye. I've been logging on everyday at TV Forum and here for over two decades which is (just) over half my life.

I'm very grateful to Rob for letting me part of the team to keep the conversation going after Asa shut up shop. Its a shame things have ended as quickly as they have.

If I'm honest with myself I am not as passionate about TV presentation as I once was. I've probably been logging on more out of habit in recent years.

So although I am registered at the new place(s), I'm going to break the habit of a lifetime and log on a little less often and revert to being a lurker.

Who knew an online community discussing such a bizarre and obscure thing could become so big and be such a big part of someone's life.

Thank you Asa, Rob and everyone else! All the best.

Cheers, Ben.

Thank You................................
This will probably be my last post. Thanks again to Rob for all his hard work on the site, and thanks to all the users who made it such a welcoming place. As I said before, I'm not currently intending to sign up to any of the new forums, but we'll see.

Until then, it's goodbye from me. Goodbye.
What's with the self promotion for some random forum in people's PMS? I don't understand why.
I'm officially signing off now for the last time, as I'll be finishing work when the forum closes tomorrow lunchtime.

My final message is quite simply this.

Thank you for everything.

Thank you.
Is there a general consensus at where we should all flock?

Have do idea what I’ll do to fill the time?

Rob - any particular faves?
People seem to be coalescing around TV Talk Forum and the forthcoming Clean Feed.

Perhaps it might be an idea for both parties to talk to find a joint way forward in the way that happened with TV Talk Forum? Fingers crossed.

Rob made it clear earlier in the thread that he didn't want to endorse any particular forum.
A final goodbye from me. I joined the blue place in 2005 as a 14 year old just starting to become interested in TV presentation. I leave TVLF as a 31 year old. Don't think I'll sign up to a new forum, but will still check in on sites like TV Live, Ident Gallery and the various YouTube channels (and now Tiktok!).
Just wanted to say thanks again Rob for taking us on when the blue place closed. (Thanks also to Asa for starting it all and setting the tone).
All the best.
Yeah, this is where I head off too. I joined TVF back as a bumbling 11-year-old whose parents had just bought him his own DVD recorder. I could never have imagined that before the age of 14, I would become a contributor and editor for two pres websites (cheers Rob and Edmund for putting up with me - a decent part of my job involves Wordpress, and the experience I gained through working on your sites is invaluable), and meet so many like-minded people.

Cheers Rob for picking up the baton. You are a good man, despite what some bitter loons pathologically yabber, and I commend you and the mods for maintaining a lovely community. I've made an account over at Pres Café in case anyone's in the mood for a chat (though I imagine most people reading this are probably wondering who the hell I even am), though I doubt I will be posting there any time soon. I lost most of the recordings in a hardware fault a couple of years ago, and my enthusiasm for TV presentation has taken a fairly terminal knock as a result.

One of the things I definitely won't forget from the past ten years is my conversations with Paul Clark. He first introduced me to TVF via an email exchange back in around June 2012. After that, he helped inform my choices when it came to recording hardware, and he even went through his old recordings to create a montage of idents for the entertainment of some random child he met online.

That absolutely made my day, and I wish I could thank him for tolerating my incoherent ramblings. Rest in peace, mate.

I realise that most of what I said relates to stuff that happened pre-TVLF, but it all feels like one era to me, and I think that's a testament to how seamless the transition from TVF to TVLF was. Kudos to you, Rob. Ta-ra, all.
Working pretty much non-stop at the moment, so never got a chance to digest the news but I’m so sad to this place go. Rob thanks for your hard work starting this after TVF closed and I’m sorry to hear about the unpleasantness that seems to have come your way - what a shame.

Good luck everyone I’m not sure I’ll join any of the new places but maybe in time. No doubt I’ll lurk around!
Well, this is my last post on TV Live Forum, thank you to everyone and it is time for closedown.

I already said my appreciations to Rob and everything and etc. in a previous post in this thread. I'm gonna give myself some time before I jump on to a new place, but I hope to see as many of you in the future.

So this is my last post here, hard thinking up a last post, it was nice being here it was nice, Rob did a great job putting this place together and lot of people here made it work, made it an interesting place to be. It was nice seeing the expression of joy, annoyance and everything in between about television pres, programmes, the news. Sometimes it was pedantic, sometimes enlightening. Great to see some behind the scenes stuff , and the insights about things from others.

It was nice and thankful I joined, when this place was announced. Wish it had gone longer ...20 years maybe, but the 20 months was nice and thankful for that time. Shame it is , but I wish Rob the best, and will still be checking up on TVLive, glad it's been keeping record of television presentation for 15 years, cheers to that! I hope the circumstances that cause this place to close down makes people take a think and remember that words on places on the internet are posted by humans and that we all should step back and think about that sometimes, that it's alright to disagree but still have respect for the other person and back away and cool off if it feels to heated. I think the whole of the internet needs to understand that in general.

It was nice 'meeting' you all here, and I'm glad to have done so, though being a lurker on the TV Forum , it was kind of easy noticing some familiars , so it was nice to interact with you. When I decide to join up on any of the other places (all?) uh I hope we can meet again. A million thank yous! As I head off on the black cab, Farewell to TV Live Forum !

There’s so much to say Rob, so I’ll just stick to thank you. You’ve done more than most ever could dream of for the TV Pres community and will continue to do so.

Onto PresCafé now. I hope they carry over the secret forum…
<t>Goodbye TVF. Hello TVLF.</t>
