There was a sound issue on itv meridian south tonight. after an report about the pinging Covid app the sound went off. anyone else see this?

I enjoyed the merged bulletins during previous lockdowns and should be used for weekday lunchtime and weekend bulletins when both regional bulletins struggle to fill those bulletins on their own.

It also gives Freeview viewers who receive BBC London from the Reigate transmitter or associated relays local news relevant to their area, rather than the Londoncentric BBC London bulletin.

I was in Kent all last week. I wasn't overly impressed by BBC SE. They just seemed to be reheating the aftermath of England's football defeat on Sunday with tenuous local angles. Then from Thursday the same but with the Open golf at Sandwich. I can't remember much that was properly solid local news. Meridian SE was better TBH.

Meridian is OK, but these days they always make so many reports from ‘overlap’ areas, especially Brighton and Sussex, so they can show them on both South and South East.
Watching both editions side by side on Sky 103 and 803, you see that the bulletins are mostly identical. It’s all become very cheap and generic.

It has. In the good old days of Meridian's Newbury studio and full 'north' region, they seemed to love stories about Winchester (which is 50:50 Rowridge/Hannington) so both progs could show them.

Again, no Oxford opt for South Today tonight. Southampton welcomed "regular viewers of our Oxford programme" at the start of the bulletin. I wonder what's going on?
