This makes me wonder if TV5 Monde France Belgique Suisse will be renamed to TV5 Monde France Belgique Suisse Monaco from next year, they are apparenlty joining with a new public broadcaster called Monte-Carlo Riviera but it's apparently a news focused channel, so it's going to be intersting to see what they are going to contribute

Monte-Carlo Riviera is rather a TV5 Monde original programme, which is produced by the Principality's lone public service broadcaster, Monaco Info, which is a news-focused channel (as [mention]Roger Darthwell[/mention] said) and broadcasts exclusively on pay-TV (there's no DTT network in the Principality, other than overspill from the French TNT), as well as Monaco Live Productions, a privately-owned indie overseen by veteran French presenter Cyril Viguier, whose last work was with Public Sénat, creating the successful Le Grand JT des Territoires, using resources from the French local press. It was relaunched in the summer 2020 in the wake of the pandemic, broadcasting on TV5 Monde and produced by Bruno Ledoux's viàGroupe (whose channels, the former TV Sud channels, also broadcast the show in a repeat basis), using these resources along with the now-defunct vià network of local channels, other independently owned channels, the network of Les Indés Radios, and the 20 Minutes network of local papers, but it was dropped by the end of the year after viàGroupe entered administration (resulting on the vià network being disbanded).

Back to Monte-Carlo Riviera, it has been broadcasting since March 2020, also in the wake of the pandemic, as part of a production deal between Monaco Info, Viguier and TV5 Monde, which led eventually to the contribution deal.

It should be seen what happens. The problem is the Luxembourgian main broadcaster is RTL (which we know is the father of privately owned commercial broadcasting in Europe) and broadcasts in the Luxembourgian language (not in French); and the Andorran public broadcaster offers all of its programming in Catalan (no programmes in Spanish and/or French) and is little watched by Andorrans (other than the evening news, which makes their largest audiences and it's consistently the most-watched local TV show), which prefer the Catalan, Spanish and French channels.

Yep. As part of compliants made by the Principality to TF1 and former owners Pathé and AB about how they were handling the channel after it launched on the TNT (like adding lots of repeats and old American TV series from its owners' archives), most of the playout is done from Monaco, and the channel must retain some programming related to the Principality. It is still valid even if TF1 now fully owns the channel. That's where Monacoscope enters. Speaking of which, Monaco Info (using information from the Principality Palace press office) also produces the show, which also airs on its own channel in translated versions in Italian, German and English, as well as a version featuring French Sign Language.

Back to Monaco Info, here's a look at their evening news. They manage successfully to produce the channel and its programmes in a shoestring budget: at 19h00, there's a half-hour newscast (15 minute on weekends and holidays) which is pre-recorded in advance, afterwards, there is a succession of magazines centered on diverse topics related to the principality: lifestyle, luxury, sport, Formula 1, cooking, cinema, music... That hour is then repeated during the rest of the day and most of the day after, until the new programming takes over at 19h00. When special events happen in the Principality (such as the National Day, the Saint Devotion celebrations, or big sporting events), the wheel can be broken for extended live coverage.

I've only noticed that MyTF1 has a Pluto TV style selection of themed channels, However while they all have names such as "Comédie Fiction" complete with logos, the DOG is My TF1 branded.

Yep, very psychedelic. It was the creation of Catherine Chaillet, which also created the logo which would become synonymous with the channel's era as a public service broadcaster, as well as the pre-20h mini cartoon Les Tifins. Chaillet also did the ident for the ORTF's 3ème Chaîne Couleur. The music was composed by Vladimir Cosma, which also composed, among others, the first IT1/TF1 Actualités theme, a sounder for the RFP jingle pub used after the relaunch, and the first Ciné Dimanche theme.

Staying with Chaillet, here's the ident she designed for the newly-created channel which we known today as France 3. The music was composed by Jacques Loussier, which even released it in an extended version under the name Octave:

Antenne 2 replied to the success of the Tifins by introducing Les Petits A2, created by Jean-Pierre Chainon, which showcased a big pink A and a small snake-shaped 2 often chasing themselves in different scenarios, initially a school notebook, but later in other diverse settings, like a fair, through history or even in the Olympics:

Back to TF1, the original Chaillet ident, which was mostly used at start-up and closedown, would be short-lived. It was replaced in 1977 by a much more aesthetically and technologically advanced ident for the time, post-produced by the office of Robert Abel and Associates in Hollywood, and with a new arrangement of the theme by Cosma himself. That ident would be used until 1986, when the new Chirac government made its stamp on the broadcaster, launching a totally new 3D CGI graphics package which marked the beginning of the privatisation:

I think the reason for the psychedelic look was because TF1 in colour launched in 1976, the channel now known as France 2 launched in 1967. But it wasn't until 1983 when colour was available throughout Metropolitan France. France of course used the SECAM 625 lines system.

France Télévisions has unveiled initial plans for its FTA coverage of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Coverage will be shared between France 2, France 3, the france.tv website, and the France TV Sport app. Starting with this event, the French National Olympic and Sports Committee FTA channel, Sport en France (available via direct satellite, the Altice/SFR cable network, the boxes and as a free AVOD service), will join as a broadcasting partner resulting from a content exchange agreement between the Committee, Reworld Media's audiovisual division (which produces the channel on an outsourcing agreeement) and France Télévisions, theretofore replacing France 4, which has since refocused as a linear outlet for their Okoo and Culturebox digital brands.

The biggest reveal of their coverage plans was of their virtual set, designed by Dreamwall, Franck Felleman and La Fabrique France Télévisions. Still on the line of the Tokyo Olympics "bubble", this time, is a geodesic dome à la Crystal Maze located over a suspended platform in the mountains. Still no info on where the set will be located in Beijing or on France Télévisions' dedicated VR studio (Studio Janine-Thiers) in their Grand Paris HQ.

Given China's current COVID policy it will most likely be in Paris as was with Tokyo 2020.
