I’d like to think it will end with them all getting ready to head off to work or school in the morning, with the final shot on location in the street. Some will be watering their gardens, riding a bike, getting in their car, going for a jog or walking down the street. The camera will then tilt up to the bright blue sky and the Neighbours logo will appear….
Or maybe as above but a taxi pulls up with Scott, Charlene and their children getting out. They don’t say anything, just smile, anything more will ruin the the legacy.

Confirmed- Final ever Neighbours episode will be on the 1st August 2022.
Australia will go to double episodes from 13th June to catch up with the UK, so both countries get the final episode on the 1st August. Well infact Australia will get the final episode before us due to the time difference.

I'm currently watching episodes from 1992 which are BBC One airings and they seem to have replaced the recap that's usually before the title card after the title card. Was there a reason why the BBC swapped the recap around?

That seems to be the sort of thing the BBC did on imported shows well into the 90s. Certainly they did it on Star Trek, in fact there's a clip of a time where the film snapped at the point where they'd cut the film to put the teaser after the titles. The earlier seasons of the Fresh Prince was like it too.

There was around a 2 year period in the early 1990s with no proper intro. I think this was when they moved the recap to before the very short opening titles. Before that it was always after the opening titles like most Aussie soaps at the time. Certainly Sons and Daughters had the recap after the titles throughout. And Home and Away did for a long time too. The only exception was Prisoner which had the recap then the mugshots then the start of the episode. There was the odd exception where the action continued as part of the new episode before the mugshot intro however.
