Quiet news day for doomsters, too much good news around the British Olympic team. 908000 people must be very bored to watch that and get viewing satisfaction.

None of the news channels have exactly been a happy-go-lucky positive viewing experience since last March, in fairness.

No reason why GB News wouldn't cover the positive Olympics story as fully as any other channel. In fact 'look how well Britain's athletes are performing on the world stage' literally couldn't be a better story as far as GB News are concerned.

We're talking about GB News with their Union flag logo and the slogan 'Britain's News Channel' ... I'd say they'd be far more likely to want to shout from the rooftops about our nation's Olympic success than any of the 'mainsteam' channels, wouldn't you?

P.S. It's 90.8k - 90,800 viewers. If GB News - whose audience was so small that it was showing as 'zero' on ratings listings within this past fortnight - was now getting 908,000 viewers, then Nigel Farage would have proven to have been a very good signing indeed...

Plus he seems to have a go at Grimes which is also on same channel often. Nothing about RNLI is about saving as he says its about a taxi service.

So the Royal National Lifeboat Institute should not save lives that are in danger at sea? Or do you think the RNLI is operating a people smuggling regime? I don't quite understand what you're saying.
Jon Gaunt making an appearance on tonight’s ‘all star panel’ on Tonight Live.
Laurence Fox getting an unexpectedly hard time on GBN this morning:

Indeed Tom Harwood being described now as ‘too woke’ by some zealots.
The channel’s biggest contribution to broadcasting currently seems to be the entertaining battle between GB News and its viewers and sometimes even civil war between GB News itself.
Nigel Farage ahead of BBC News in his time slot, but a very wide gap for the rest of the day:

He's added that at midday the BBC Parliament channel, simulcasting BBC News, had 8,000 viewers compared to 9,000 watching GB News - so be interesting to see that figure for the 7pm hour.

How can he claim it’s actual zero though when the data is not measured to the extent required to prove this?

He can't!!! There's only 5,000 out of 26m homes recording BARB data. Strange thing to say.
For me one of the biggest problems GB News has is the presenters just don't have the personalities for this type of format. Reading an autocue and asking a few questions is one thing (and yes I know that's not all there is to it so don't write in) but when you're reliant on your presenter adlibing for the best part of hour and literally anchoring the show you need big egos like Farage.

Whether you love him or hate him (and I'm in the latter camp for the record) one thing Farage has charisma and personality. I've always felt that if Farage had taken a different path and done documentaries or the like and left politics alone they'd actually be informative and interesting because, as much as it pains me to say it, he's actually a great broadcaster.

For me, if GB News are going to continue to rely on the likes of Tom, Mercy, Alex and Dewbs who between them muster up all the charisma of a pebble then things will never improve.
9am-noon continues to be easily the worst slot on the channel. Whoever thought that putting Tom Harwood with Mercy would work?

I'll give him some credit for actually questioning Laurence Fox with actual journalistic questions, but neither are natural presenters.

Guto Harri has given an interview about his time at GB News to the Stories of our times podcast (29th July) by The Times newspaper.

There are also contributions from Chris Curtis of Broadcast Magazine about the business model.
Genuinely… where is Andrew Neil????
