Recently, I stumbeled across a redesign that (for the most part) never made it to air. In 2018, the german foreign broadcaster DW recieved a big redesign by W12 Studios - but instead of using it´s full potential, DW only uses a very small amount of the possible elements.

Ditto. It looks so good. If I were DW, I'd probably uncover the rest of the design as DW Redesign 2018 2.0.

Speaking of Aussie TV, Network 10 is apparently getting a refresh of its current look this Sunday, as shown in this promo.

This looks like a place where I can dump TV presentation, I'll start with my own station I guess, I'll post some from a BBC1 NI VHS tape I have (Recorded down here in the west of Ireland)
My own station is really basic, I run it myself from OBS. Pretty annoying to run every day, sometimes the receiver (turns the RTMP signal into a composite PAL signal) doesn't bother working.
I think I'm blabbering on. I'll post a few images.

Soon enough I'll send over the BBC1 closedown, not complete, the end of a ~2 hour tape.

Scripps Network renamed Court TV Mystery to ION Mystery, utilizing the ION TV name they acquired last year. Kind of a weird rebrand, as its genre (investigative series and thriller) aligns more to Court TV (courtroom series) than ION (general entertainment).

I know Channel 7 Melbourne is the regional station, which rarely has a distinctive brand compared to ITV franchises. But, what I think is similar is both attempted to rename their TV networks against established brands (from ITV to C3, from C7 to ATN), which promptly failed. I wonder what's the point behind the rename rage?

Actually, Melbourne would be a 'metro' station. i.e. it's owned by the network itself. In Australia, regional stations would be:
- PRIME7/GWN7 (affiliated to/and now owned by Seven)
- WIN (Channel 10, Channel 9 affiliation - for Ch 9 it uses a metro feed, apart from sponsorship and WIN specific dual-branded idents)
- Southern Cross (Seven & Channel 10, respective affiliated stations currently branded as a metro - but differences in sponsorship, etc..)
- Imparja (affiliated to Channel 9)
- NBN (owned by Channel 9, but has kept the 'NBN' name in their news programme)
- Channel 7 Queensland (owned by Seven, metro branded - feeds off Brisbane)

There's been quite a few affiliate agreements/takeovers recently - so the regional brand is kind of dying at the moment (or on it's last legs)

My mistake for the inaccurate wording - seems like Australian TV is structured closer to the US affiliate system.

But still, a major network completely abandoning a well-known name is near unheard of. That probably explains why C7/ATN retained the 7 symbol on their station ID, hence the rare outing of the star icon.

It also meant a transitional period is needed for stations, metro or regional, to catch on, thus the jumbled in-credit notice. In short, the practice just seemed impratical - so why did they bother?

I'd argue the general-entertainment bent of Ion is why this rebrand makes sense. Court TV is essentially a rolling courtroom coverage channel, whereas Ion's lineup consists almost exclusively of various procedural series (think something like 5USA). The Court TV Mystery name was a bit clunky (compared to its original female-skewing true-crime format as Escape from 2014-2019), and now with the addition of scripted series, the Ion pivot makes more sense. (Though between Ion, Ion Plus [nee lifestyle channel Ion Life] and Ion Mystery, there's quite a bit of overlap between the Ion brands now...)

The Indian version of Disney XD became Marvel HQ in 2019. It's now rebranded again, to Super Hungama.
