I will bring back the sidebar at some stage, most likely when I've managed to get an events calendar working. Smile

As a little side note -- it's good that Rob is experimenting with things. Trying things out is a good thing, considering it's a new forum. And he seems very responsive to feedback, so I have no doubt the TV Live Forum will become even better than the old TV Forum.
Personally I prefer the current design of images for the tiles. It looks more solid rather than the icons earlier. The whole design of the site is pretty solid so they match well.

Nothing I do will ever be better than TV Forum, I can guarantee that one!

Already loving the jump to post feature - very welcome!

And i agree about the home page design. The original version is much better, good to see its back today.

Will do it tomorrow.

I preferred the Ceefax version of the site
Is there a way to hide the chat functionality?

Edit: Ah, found it in the settings! Question revoked.
From the GB News thread in reaction to it getting the old Fox News Channel number

This is getting political, please stop.
Can we stop writing off every little quip and observation as "political". Taking the humour out of this place through over moderation is doing it no favours and risk making it a very dry place.

Three RTP's were received regarding those posts, which sort of suggests to me that those people weren't happy with that kind of discussion here. OK, I can accept that the comments were meant to be humourous with no malice intended, and I'm happy to backtrack on my comments.

I think the issue there though is misuse of the report the post function, not the posts themselves. Arguably it is those reporting such posts that are doing so with "politics" in mind, not those making the post in the first place.

Thumbs up though for not deleting them.

Maybe we need to find the fair line with politics, as we did with presenters and rotas?

To me, the above seemed like a fairly humorous comment relating to the press coverage saying GBN will be the UK's Fox News. Anything further than that would've probably been wrong.
Sorry to add a complaint (though I think this is my first one since the forum started) - recently either the forum has been upgraded or a new feature has been added, where when you click onto the next page in the thread, it loads it without loading an entirely new page, if that makes sense. Unfortunately this seems to break the back button - try it for yourself, go to the second to last page of a thread, click onto the next page, then try clicking back.

I'm finding this a bit frustrating, as well as the fact that there is no typical loading bar in my browser appearing because of this feature. Hopefully this makes sense but sorry if I'm not explaining it too well (is it something called AJAX?)

What browser are you using Phil? It seems to be working fine for me in the latest version of Google Chrome. If anyone else has this problem, please do let me know and I'll investigate further.

I'll have a try on other browsers - it mainly seems to be when I'm on my iPad. Cheers Rob

Just to note that following recent comments, the rules regarding political discussion are being reviewed, and clarification of what can and can't be posted regarding this subject will be confirmed next week.
