The AP are in the same building. I believe quite a few of their live feeds have come from the roof of that building.
Quote:Later on Saturday, the military notified the building owner that it was about to strike the high-rise in Gaza City where The Associated Press and other media outlets, including Al Jazeera, have their offices. Residents of the building, including AP staff, evacuated. The army told the AP that staff should evacuate immediately.

Edit: Looks like they have struck that building now.

Building has been hit in an airstrike. Apparently everyone was evacuated, according to Al Jazeera.

i24 Francais is live from a green screen studio, while the English service is showing pre-recorded programming.

Also worth noting that i24 also have a studio in New York they can use if they can't use their facilities in Tel Aviv.

Yep there were about 3 explosions seen behind the tower and smoke then one big one that brought it down, all shown live on Al Jazeera.

Quite extraordinary thing to see and also must be so odd for them to be reporting on and showing one of their main bureaus being destroyed live on TV. There was an audible gasp in the background when it collapsed

Probably similar to NATO bombing RTS Serbia's building in 1999. I visited the TV station in 2008, the end of each corridor still had boarding to seal off where the other half of the building used to be

That must be an incredibly weird and unsettling experience as a newscaster (Halla Mohieddeen I think it was) having to report live on your channel's own bureaus being bombed.

Just watching it on delay and they're talking to one of the team based in Gaza who's paying tribute to his colleagues who even when displaced out of the building were still trying to work on plan B to continue working.

One of the correspondents elsewhere was reminicising about the building. It'll be a building that quite a lot of AJ reporters and staff will have been to and virtually every live report from Gaza for AJ or AP has come from it

And of course there was apparently talk about bombing Al Jazeera itself back in 2004.

Yes! Around that year I wandered into one of our lad's bedrooms, he was playing a video game, Call of Duty rings a bell? (I know nothing about the culture) Anyway a part of the game was to mount an assault on an enemy TV station. I watched him walk himself into the reception, and into the corridors. All I can say that the building layout looked just that of Al J in Doha. I said open that door, it's an edit suite. It was! ?

The (rather pragmatic) owner of the building on the phone to the Israeli security forces pleading for 10 more minutes so journalists can go in and retrieve some equipment. The request was refused

On a personal note, I flew to Tel Aviv two years ago to the day for the last Eurovision. Both the broadcaster and the host city did an incredible job, but at no point did I feel particularly unsafe (the running joke the day after the night Israel won in Lisbon was, "well nobody's going to try a stage invasion next year!") - sad to see the situation now as it is as it's a great city.
With Eurovision Again replaying the contest of just two years ago tonight it's quite humbling to see the situation they're back in yet again at the moment.

I haven’t heard this elsewhere. But NBC News reported that BBC News was also working out of the building that was bombed that housed the AP and Al Jazeera. Is it possible the BBC was subletting a work space from the AP?

Don't think so, you'd think the BBC would have mentioned it if they were - they have only mentioned AP and AJ as being resident in the building. Of course, this is the sort of information which may well be kept under wraps for various reasons.
