Pre-Launch News UK to launch talkTV in 2022
TalkRADIO are now promoting the linear channel numbers, and the new simulcast presenters (Newton Dunn, Morgan and Osbourne).

Hope, unlike at present, they sort ad breaks out that aren’t filled with promos as they are now on on the TV simulcast.
So will the TalkTV branding/on-screen graphics be used on linear channels during the daytime when TalkRADIO is simulcast, or will TalkRADIO be completely rebranded visually to align itself with the prime-time identity ?

Will also be interesting to see how TalkTVs other content will fit into the schedule - will it replace some TalkRADIO simulcasted programmes during the day, or be used at weekends/to fill the prime time programmes when the presenter is off ?
Reading the article in Radio Today, TalkRadio will be simulcast on Talk TV during the day, then Talk Tv's output will be simulcast during the evening on Talk Radio.

Nothing revealed about what happens in the black hole that is the weekend schedule.

There has been no mention of talkRADIO rebranding to talkTV, so it's going to be strange having a TV channel with radio branding for the bulk of their schedule.

Incidentally, Howard Hughes mentioned on air that his Sunday 10pm-1am show was going to be televised. So it appears that weekends are purely talkRADIO simulcasts.

Can we assume that the TV block will be the three hours between Ian Collins and James Whale with Newton Dunn at 7pm, Morgan at 8pm and Osbourne at 9pm? I've never seen times mentioned in the press releases.
A retune now gives the channel on Freeview. It isn't screening anything as far as I can see at the moment, but no doubt will soon.

That's what I'm thinking. And what for Overnights? Will they use Paul Ross / Martin Kelner who do the overnight shows or do something different? I believe Kelner (who is in his 70s don't forget!) has been working from home for the last 2 years. A change with this will also impact TalkSPORT.

The interesting thing about Howard's show is he seems to imply that he won't be doing midnight to 1 anymore so is his show down to 2 hours or being moved in the schedule?

Also he's indicated that Talk Radio will be 24 hour live from now on, so none of the filler "best of's" any more.
A preview loop has now appeared, with some rather nice behind the scenes shots.

It'll be Jeremy Kyle at 4pm from talkRADIO, then the TalkTV segment and then Whale at 10pm.

You’ve got to hand it to them - it looks impressive. I’m intrigued to see how it does.
Is that Louise Minchin's name I see on the autocue near the end...?

Yes you did. Can't tell whether that's because she was a guest for a rehearsal, or a presenter for a rehearsal ? I suspect the former.

Also, I see they are using EVS's Cerebrum control system
Has popped up on Sky Ch 526 (in HD) and Freeview Ch 237

That's logical but obviously overnights and weekends still seem to be in flux. Very strange that less than 2 weeks away we don't have schedule.

Studio looks nice but graphics feel very 90s - and not in a good way.
