Unsurprisingly a few cuts to the ITV3 episodes this week - second episode on Thursday the final scene with Rita and Natalie was badly cut which was a shame as that was a very iconic scene. And then a small part of the Natalie and Sharon scene towards the end of the hour long episode on Friday was cut. An excellent episode, I remember watching it back in 1999.

Corrie has done very well with awards this week winning all 3 soap related awards at TV Choice and then all 3 at the NTAs on Thursday. Although Corrie was, in my opinion, very average for the first 6 months of this year (aside from the hate crime story) its been excellent over the past couple of months and towards the end of last year it was very good too with the Oliver storyline and Yasmeen and Geoff so id say its well deserved. Out of the soaps I watch id say Corrie has had more great moments overall during the difficult past 12-18 months.

Remarkable that it’s closed down - residents always had Costa cups

EE will be much more difficult to intertwine without it feeling forced. Characters can’t upgrade their phones every 6 weeks!

I guess they will film a new advert with Kevin Bacon on the street once it is all finished. If they wanted to incorporate into the show, he could launch the branch but that might be a bit too much promotion!

I'm glad to see the Costa go. It's always been ridiculous that characters would go to Roy's grotty cafe that hasn't had so much as a lick of paint in 20 years for a cup of Nescafé when they were three steps away from a Costa.

They could keep Costa on as well (at a lower cost level presumably) by installing a Costa machine in Co-op.

To be fair, it's called Roy's ROLLS. Mr Cropper's main product is sandwiches, not coffee.

I think Roy has moved on from making instant coffee, wasn't there a storyline where he had a new Coffee machine installed? Although it's not quite barista level.

I know it's fictional but this is a bit harsh, Tom! Poor Roy. :lol:

Also worth noting that (especially post-pandemic) many people - myself included - make a conscious effort to frequent small local businesses where practicable in lieu of the big chains, so I don't think it's preposterous to have Roy's Rolls and Costa in relatively close proximity both seeing steady patronage.

I imagine Roy’s prices for the buns and cakes he does are much more modest than Costa charge, and you also can’t get a fry up at the latter either

Plus you also get friendly service and a side helping of all the latest gossip whilst you are eating!

It's right next to a railway station, that doesn't seem all that unrealistic.

Just to be pedantic it's a Metrolink (tram) stop!

Fair enough. Doesn't alter the point though, being next to a public transport stop means it's not exactly in an area that gets no footfall!
