Today marks 20 years since the Battle of Bramall Lane between Sheffield United and West Brom and included in the video posted is snippets of an early edition of Soccer Saturday reporting on the game as it happened. Talking of that game wasn't it broadcast for extended highlights on ITV Digital that night?

HUGE news here in the States as Joe Buck & Troy Aikman bolt FOX, ahead of a Super Bowl year for them of all times to do so, to go to ESPN & call Monday Night Football.....
https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-relea...-football/
That solves a massive problem for ESPN though - they’ve never quite replaced the Mike Tirico/Jon Gruden combo at MNF, and have gone through a couple of different combos since none of which have quite gelled.

There is likely more big NFL commentator news to come. Fox, will of course need a new booth to replace Buck/Aikman, although it seems an internal promotion is on the cards. But elsewhere, Tirico’s been with NBC since 2016, and it seems like only this September, six years in, will he assume the role every observer assumes he was hired for - commentator for Sunday Night Football, with Al Michaels out of contract. That begs the question of whether Michaels (probably the best NFL commentator, if not sports commentator in America full stop) will retire or move elsewhere. A move to Amazon has been touted for Michaels (with the odd possibility of doing some games for NBC as effectively #2 to his own replacement) but that seems to have stalled at the last hurdle.

Yes, it was shown as part of Football First on the ITV Sport Channel with Alastair Mann commentating, this being the only season since 1996 Sky didn't have the rights to the Football League. A friend of mine had the channel and that was the only time he ever watched that programme, and I remember him saying the pundits all had to talk very carefully around it in case they libelled anyone so the punditry was a bit toothless ("Well, he doesn't look very injured there, but we'll have to assume that he is").

Given how few people watch highlights of all three divisions on a FTA channel in Quest on a Saturday night, heaven knows how many people were watching highlights of one division on a pay channel twenty years ago.

My eyes!! So, so many colours!
Noteable the DOG is top left rather than the F1 standard of bottom left, with rumours elsewhere of new graphics.
A disadvantage of these types of sequences is when one of the drivers are absent...

Not neccessarily TV, but BBC Radio 5 Live have retained the radio rights of F1; the same team will be involved, but Jolyon Plamer will be involved less, instead working more for the in-house coverage at F1TV.

There have been a few games in recent weeks though generally lower profile and on Thursdays vs the Europa League but Arsenal v Liverpool on Sky going head to head with Lille v Chelsea on BT has to be the biggest broadcasting clash between the Premier League and Champions League in their history.

I’m not sure if this is the reason but tonight’s Everton v Newcastle fixture is not being broadcast in Ireland - the rights to it are held by Premier Sports but it’s not in their listings (and they have no other live sport scheduled, just ice hockey repeats).

Better implementation of team logos but the loss of team "highlight" colours will be noticeable.

The All4 app & website has an updated picture showcasing the Channel 4 team for this year's season of Formula 1. Alex Jacques and Alice Powell are included in the photo. However Billy Monger is not included in the photo at all. Is Billy staying on with the team this year or not?

Seen Formula 1 ®?
Watch it here on All 4: https://www.channel4.com/programmes/form..._formula_1

Qualifying and Race Day Highlights at Bahrain will take place at 7:30pm for both Saturday & Sunday night on Channel 4.

The answer to this is yes, he's still part of the team.
