It has been one of the longest - not sure if it has yet beaten the 20-odd years or so Ford sponsored Super Sunday though. The change is that it’s now Gillette Labs, as opposed to just Gillette. I think it’s just temporary, to tie in with a current advertising campaign/product launch.

This 100%. Also Jeff Stelling keeps referring to it as ‘Gillette Soccer Saturday’, so can’t see it being ‘Gillette Labs’ for much longer

Interestingly, with the lions share of this weeks Premier League games being (unusually) played today, Nick Powell is presenting what amounts to a Soccer Special today. Only it’s not a Soccer Special, it’s from the normal Sky Sports News studio and branded as such, but with the Soccer Saturday L-bar set up. And an oddly knocked up graphic reading “Soccer Sunday” on the screens, but not in the font usually used for Soccer Saturday/Special.

Have FedEx being a UEFA Champions League sponsor all this season or is it new replacing Gazprom? Can't remember seeing them before but they may have started at the start of the new rights cycle.
Anyway, they are the only sponsor of tonight's coverage on BT Sport, instead of being one of two sponsors on other matchdays. Presumably Gazprom's departure is the reason for that change.

I'm guessing UEFA's stance about Premier League games clashing with Champions League fixtures has softened a bit, especially with covid to consider. There have been a few games in recent weeks though generally lower profile and on Thursdays vs the Europa League but Arsenal v Liverpool on Sky going head to head with Lille v Chelsea on BT has to be the biggest broadcasting clash between the Premier League and Champions League in their history.

Not sure how it affects broadcasting given friendlies in place of Nations League games usually end up on Sky now but Scotland will not play Poland on the 24th in place of the postponed Ukraine and cancelled Russia fixture.
Meanwhile Wales will play a match raising funds for the DEC on the 29th. If Wales lose their play off they'll play Scotland, if not they'll play the losers of the Sweden v Czech Republic play off.
