Rob's decision was by far the best and most sensitive he could've taken - it makes it much easier to follow with separate threads for separate, distinct events and also makes it much easier to read/look back on. If you want to comment on a specific aspect raised in the previous thread, just post it in this thread and say 'Someone raised [topic] in the previous thread...' etc or something of that sort. The vast majority of people on here have flowed just fine from thread to thread, and the tone of your comment indicated a serious overreaction on your part.

I suspect broadcasters will pretty much draw a line under it now. Will probably be some reflection on the daytime shows tomorrow and then the world moves on - will be interesting to see how quickly the royal documentaries which may not always paint them in a positive light return to the schedule. C4 were midway through a series on them.
Overall though it has been British broadcasting at it's best, and on the day the news broke, perhaps the BBC at it's most baffling. We don't need to tread over the argument again especially as I think there is a broad concensus on what they got right and what they got wrong but looking back what surprises me is considering how well rehearsed every corner of the BBC seemed to be deal with an obit it appears to be the case that they never actually consulted with a panel of viewers and licence fee payers about what they should do in these circumstances. I think had they done that properly and heeded the advice decisions around BBC2, BBC4 and how long the joint radio braodcast would last may have been more sensible and measured.
The BBC will have learned from it of course, but then again the next royal obit now is likely to be on a scale like none of us have ever seen and even with lessons learned you'd expect coverage to be greater due to the nature of the news and the further constitutional issues.
P.S. Only had this thought posting this but do wonder if the 3pm scheduling of the funeral had the American breakfast audience in mind.

I don’t think it was [mention]Brekkie[/mention] - I believe for ABC, CBS and NBC it was down to individual stations / affiliates whether they took the coverage or stuck with their planned schedules. A lot did, but there were some who didn’t.
As for the different feeds available - yes there were some ISOs available. Most of them beauty shots.
The feed from 2:40pm to the end of the service was a BBC Events production.
As for CNN crediting ITN, that is presumably because they took the ITN international feed that was offered to their clients. Once the procession began that stuck with the BBC produced images, but either side had a selection of the best pictures from Windsor and around the UK. Not correct to say it was ‘definitely Reuters’.
The agencies (including Eurovision) offered a variety of beauty shots as well as carrying the service itself.
Like a lot of Royal events there are heavy restrictions on the reuse of any footage.
And yes, that was CNNs shiny new truck. The kit inside is very impressive. It’s first big outing. Not the only broadcaster who had a new truck doing its first big event!

Most big three affiliates carried it. I think there may have been a handful of exceptions, the biggest I can think of was KARE 11 NBC in Minneapolis.
