News Coverage UK Prime Minister & Government Resignations
Must say Chris Mason has had an amazing few days. Proved himself in the political editor role already.

I bet Laura Kunessberg is hating the fact that all this is happening whilst she is between jobs

To be fair Charlie had been on air for over three hours, and I guess with Charlie working into Salford's gallery switching that to Studio E would be awkward.

I gather from Twitter that he was doing a Radio 4 two-way and interrupted with 'I've got to go there's a call coming in from Downing Street' when the news broke
Write that down in your copybook now

Some woud argue this wouldn't have happened in the last 48 hours had she still been in post. Chris Mason has led on this in the way Paul Brand and Pippa Crerar did on Partygate.

Four hours isn't unusual in these cases though where news breaks late into a shift.

Surely this means that This Morning and Loose Women won't air today.

I didn’t see the handover, did anyone?

Lorraine did a great sign-off, wrapping up the interview and talking about handing over to ITV News. All very smooth. They ran the sponsor (mustn't forget that!) but it just hung on that for ages before crashing into Nina.

Charlene White could to Loose Women from Number Ten.
<t>I taught them everything......</t>
Adam Boulton now back on Sky News offering analaysis. Not before a love in with Kay mind.
Euronews rather behind on this news... they're still reporting that Boris is clinging onto his job, yet they've updated their ticker with the news of his resignation.

BBC needs to bring out the big guns. Never liked Geeta.

Looks like Loose Women won't be airing today - as it's been confirmed by Nina that they'll be back at 12:30pm.

This Morning's still set to go to air this morning.
ITV News not quite getting a full sign off in

“From all of us,”
Break bumper.

Sounds like they’ll be back for the statement at half 12

Were you meaning for him to continue until they could parachute somebody more familiar in or carry on all morning?

Watchable, for now, by pressing restart programme on ITV Hub.

Incidently I assumed that frozen sponsorship sting was only on ITV Hub, I hoped it wasn't like that on TV too!

At least Nina recapped 'for those who just joined us'
This Morning wasting no time in having a party to celebrate the news...
