I noticed the 23:00 edition of newsday has a round of headlines just in the UK however the 00:00 & 01:00 editions don’t suggesting there still must be a considerable UK audience at 11pm.

That was great the 9:30am bulletin but it was minus the actual presentation bits and the graphics seemed to be a pixels down for some reason. It was a bit of a mystery at that time as of course the whole operation at bbc world was at arms length from uk bbc.

It’s a shame that Newsday is not going to return as double headed as that’s what made it unique IMO.

I don't know why the 10am hour on BBC Two doesn't take a more global news focus, give it a name and market as something like Newshour with Victoria Derbyshire (Victoria Derbyshire/Christian Frazer Mon-Wed alter Thu) / (Antina McViegh/Philippa Thomas alter Thu Fri-Sun), with business and sport, plus viewers interaction and discussion. or move it to 9am & have a second edition at 9pm on the News Channel with Christian Fraser, these aren't standard editions of WN, you could even sell it to PBS and other partnes. World News Today has its origins as a bulletin commissioned back when BBC Four was launched as BBC Four News to focus principal on international news for the UK produced by BBC World, it then The World, before becoming WNT in 2007. |
