Saturday Night Takeaway

Level Up was basically an In For A Penny feature in a lift though. Not saying that’s a bad thing. I do wonder if some kind of virtual lift was in the original planning for Limitless Win with the contestants going up the money ladder in it and they decided was too gimmicky. So they decided to then adapt the idea for takeaway in a real lift.

It does seem like this is the best series for a long time. Something just seems to have clicked a bit more.
What a brilliant episode it was. I loved how relaxed it felt, the skits with the running gag of the crew disappearing early for the party worked very well, showing the boys in their element.

I’ve noticed from the schedules that Channel 5 have dropped in a talking heads programme ‘Ant & Dec’s 30 Greatest Moments’ next Saturday evening. With BBC One airing Celebrity Mastermind, Pointless Celebrities and Casualty, it could do well for them.
There was also 'Ready Or Not' on BBC1 several years ago with one of the games taking place in a lift!

No, I'm not surprised it hasn't been mentioned by anybody yet either Big Grin

Maybe it was supposed to be Mulhern, and they ended up doing it themselves when he called in sick.

Maybe, but I imagine it was filmed quite some months ago so not sure it would have affected it.
Yes - assume the pre-recorded elements are all done pre-series.

On a side note, looking at the amount of ITV programming currently being made at the Television Centre, I do wonder if ITV had the chance, would they purchase the three studios from BBC Studioworks and rebrand it to ITV Studios, as it does look like a perfect home for ITV studio HQ in London.

Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, Loose Women, Saturday Night Takeaway, The Jonathan Ross Show, Peston, a lot of ITV shows using the centre. If BBC Studioworks did not not have long lease on the studios from Stanhope developers, I wonder if ITV would try and buy them? Just a thought.

Why would Studioworks sell to ITV?

BBC Studioworks do not own the three studios. They hold a lease on the studios from Stanhope developers, a 15 year lease. So Stanhope own the studios, and could sell it to ITV is they so wished.
It's all about the balance sheet so not really in ITV's interests to own the studios, but if they are still doing the daytime shows from there in a decade may be worth them leasing them directly.

Not sure though that ITV use TC1 for much more than Saturday Night Takeaway and I think the Jonathan Ross Show.

The Graham Norton Show is technically an ITV Studios production as they own So Television.
Sofa Watch is back tonight according to the promo.
They're both women and that trumps regionality; ITV guidelines
Not the best start to the show. A contestant was (somehow?) given the wrong list for Read My Lips and they accidentally cut to the wrong family during the Happiest Minute!

Also a brief sound issue during Anna Maxwell Martin’s intro piece at the start.
Fantastic Undercover using members of the public.

The Ant vs Dec was different too, really enjoyed it.

It’s such a great mixture of ideas this series! Really feels like they’ve stepped it up a notch
