GB News: Launch
Gb news is basically in my view is a comedy channel pretending to do news it's so funny but for all the wrong reasons I dont know if anyone has mentioned this in the forum yet but somebody emailed in as Mike oxlong and Mike hunt and the presenters didn't realise. On a separate issue does anyone know if the brands who have stopped advertising with the channel advertise on talkradio which is basically gb news on the radio
"and you couldn't DRIVE UP THEM..."
The only explanation to the audio is it's automated, otherwise someone is literally just sliding the faders up and down at random
Did I just hear Andrew saying OOH!

I have low frequency tinnitus and some deafness - the sound problems on GB News is now making me question whether it is my hearing on the blink or GB News.
Sounds like Andrew's eating something or is unable to speak (at least, I'm pretty sure it's Andrew), and now he's sounding far away.

talkRADIO is a very different entity, protected by Rupert Murdoch who owns them. I doubt any adverts would be pulled from them. talkRADIO and GB News are very different. One is actually a fairly decently presented centre right news service, and the other is a comedy sketch show parodying news channels.
By the pricking of my thumbs, something controversial this way comes.
For GB News at least. God, this channel isn't gonna last long, is it?
Andrew Neil, just give up.

I am finding that I have to turn the TV up well past 50% to have any chance of hearing them, and I'm in a quiet room and (AFAIK) no hearing difficulties. That's before the ridiculous difference in levels between the guests!

Then my TV speakers get blown out when I return to a credible broadcaster

To be fair, I imagine the discussions with HMT Press Office will have wanted a big news announcement to lead with (like the trade deal today) as most guest bookings need an 'angle' (much the same from everyone from a Mayor to a PM)
I’m permanently tuned into GB News, it’s like watching a 24 hour live stream of Big Brother
I really think at this point they should go off air at the weekend (if not sooner) and spend the time on technical improvements / rehearsals.
The BBC apparently wanted to keep Andrew, to do other projects, but Andrew wanted to create this news channel so much he turned down their offer. Andrew felt hard done by the BBC over the axing of This Week, the late night Thursday political show, when Andrew wanted to move it to an earlier slot.

I do feel Andrew left the BBC far too quickly, and did not realise the massive hard work and money needed to have a decently run news channel service.

I don't think that will happen, either it will keep being funded, or move to online/radio if the TV station fails at a next stage.
And now Dan, while in a four way box, is gesticulating to someone quite rapidly with his hands.

In terms of audio, from the photos it looks like it’s all being run through a Newtek TriCaster which is also running the audio.

Whether it’s an automation or a compatibility issue is hard to tell, but I’ve ran a weekly show via NDI with remote cameras, switching, zoom / Skype calls and it’s never been this problematic - which makes me wonder if it’s Mosart throwing a wobbly.
