GB News: Launch

The mics seem to be working, it is like someone is selecting the wrong feeds, setting the levels wrong, and just mixing them all up.
I think the sound mix is all driven by automation - so there isn't anyone dedicated to caring about the sound output. It could actually be that there isn't even an audio desk surface for someone to use which makes it really difficult to rapidly make any change here.
Hard to believe a few weeks ago some were speculating Andrew Neil would end up anchoring from France (due to quarantine issues)!

What delusions we had of GBN’s technical capabilities! They can’t even get it right from Paddington, never mind Paris
Who is the mystery woman jumping up and down behind Michael Gove? We need to know.
The clip they just showed looks and sounds like a 360p YT video recorded on a sideways phone

As I understand it, when a company advertises with Sky, they don’t do so on a channel specific basis. They pay for a certain amount of appearances at a certain time of day. That’s how Sky News can cut the ads when there’s a big breaking story - the ads just go elsewhere across the Sky portfolio. I’m sure there aren’t many advertisers specifically requesting a GB News exclusive ad slot.
And they just showed a squeezed clip instead of cutting to the guest.

I wonder if GB News will gain a lot of viewers not because they like the channel, but are simply watching for the failures, gaffes and total lack of presentation.
If they don't have a proper sound op they seriously need to put a processor in line, even if it's an i5 and ASIO interface running Breakaway Live/One.
I am still amazed that GB News is more appallingly bad at presentation than talkRADIO.

Only reason I tune in every so often, when they are slick I have no reason to watch. I like a good laugh Smile
Just for a matter of interest they are still talking about ‘freedom day’ being delayed but have they actually reported today’s covid figures at all?

Also looks like they haven’t got a clean feed from the House of Commons judging by the strap on the clip they just showed.
Andrew's former boss Rupert Murdoch must be in fits of laughter if he has watched any of GB News recently. And to think, it was Andrew Neil who steered and directed the launch of Sky News in 1989.
The Lindsay Hoyle clip instead of Trevor Kavanagh was... odd.

I really am beginning to wonder just how long they had tech rehearsals for... I'd assumed those construction videos were delayed by a few days, at least...
I see on the ticker the Chancellor will be Andrew's special guest tomorrow night - why could they not have had him on, on their first night on air?
Has Becca moved to the stationery cupboard?
