BBC South Today, South East Today & ITV Meridian
The combined London, South and SE bulletin may as well just call itself Commuter Belt Today.

No it shouldn't

Looks like a try-out for a new super-local news bulletin for south and southeast London. ("Today in Lewisham...")
No it doesn't

Yes, a nice bit of region stretching. Windsor suddenly been added, and easy copy of course because the story had nothing extra to add to the national narrative, so just cut and paste it.

May as well stayed joined up as BBC South East Corner of England, or just show a Tom and Jerry cartoon.
Interesting that the language in both the BBC South and BBC Yorkshire tweets are very similar. A way of saying that the programme is affected by COVID without actually mentioned the invisible menace?

The set looks much nicer there than it does on-screen! HD can't come soon enough.
The set has been used since 2010 and is in great shape

It's a shame we can't see the make and model of the cameras. That'll give us some clue, though I seem to recall 10 years ago they were running Sony HSC-300 (which were entry level) HD cameras in SD
For those who couldn't see the combined Londonhamptonwells bulletin.

Just had a quick look at some of Michele's other tweets, and these two show Sony SMPTE fibre cameras with the new style of shell (3100/3500/5500 rather than the 2500/4300 or the 1500 shells) - cameras which are definitely HD-capable. The middle camera in the second tweet is an older triax camera, however - looks like an HSC-300 for certain.

I'm pretty confident that Night Thoughts was being humorous based on how the convoluted programme name *sounds*, rather than seriously believing that the bulletin was a genuine tester for such a ludicrously ultra-local service.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted by the apparent total lack of sense of humour and/or total inability to interpret others' posts non-literally which the needlessly curt reply seems to indicate.

Fair enough, shan’t bother posting again then.

I guess you've read into my intended-to-be-humourous-too response in the same way that you think I read into the post by Night Thoughts. I apologies for causing you a moment of apparent offense, that certainly wasn't the intention.

Yes, although you can often see what look like giant scratches on the backdrop! (Think that might be in the sofa area)
The thing with that convoluted name for the 'mega region' is that South East Today would probably have sufficed for a description of the area covered and would have looked a damn sight tidier.
