The ethics of that has always been questionable but if they are in their own bubble it is easier to justify. Less so though if the opponents are free to mix with the rest of society and if, unlike last year, the stadium has a crowd of thousands - even if the players do remain a supposed "safe distance" from them.
Not sure who the intended broadcasters were for the weekend games - looking at the kick off times probably Premier but their new website is terrible compared to it's previous incarnation which had a very clear guide to who was broadcasting what.

Been following the creation of Rugby Kick Off.com on another forum. Should be exactly what you need and it's a travesty that no official source or respected newspaper thought to do it first.

Well similar sites have existed for a while but that is nice and clear, though someone needs to send them the new BBC logo. 
So S4C and BBC Wales were both due to air games from South Africa this weekend but next weekend they're all on Premier. I assume it would have been off-tube anyway.

Sportspeople are not exempt from the red list as we have seen many times in the last few months.
One good piece of rugby union news, the BBC have agreed a deal to cover the women's elite competition in England, the Premier 15s. The first live game is on Sunday and is on the I player and BBC sport website.

All URC games are on Premier - there are selected fixtures each weekend that also air on free to air channels in Ireland and Wales (RTE/TG4/BBC NI/S4C/BBC Wales). In ROI there’s also the URC TV OTT service which carries all games but that isn’t available in the U.K.

I'd imagine many are being strongly encouraged to do so by their clubs and of course things like the recent rugby tours, even for the home teams, have been in bubble environments.
Still seems to be no confirmation they've been able to get out, but interestingly Golf's DP World Tour (formerly European Tour) was due to start this weekend with the first of three South African events, event though the last season only finished on Sunday. As with many sports nowadays one season seems to roll straight into the next.
Several British and Irish players have pulled out of the event though. Bringing it back to broadcasting though and I see Sky still has the rights. I thought Discovery were picking up the tour from 2022, or is that the US PGA Tour?

It was the US PGA Tour - though they have picked up European/DP World Tour rights in a number of other locations. I think the “finish the season one week, start the next season next week” has been, er, par for the course in both major golf tours for years, though they tend to take a break over Christmas instead.
All URC games hosted by the South African sides in Rounds 6 and 7 have now been officially postponed.

O/T but it doesn't helps shows like The Hit List, which is actually a decent enough show, feel like anything more than filler when it's taken off air so often and rarely completes a series in one block. I think this latest "series" this autumn has been the remaining episodes of the last series and the first few of the new episodes.
Anyway on to World Cup news and Wales and Scotland have been drawn in the same path so only one of them can win a place in the World Cup, with them meeting in the play-off final if they win their semi-finals. If that play-off does happen wonder if their might be some pressure for it to be free to air.
Scotland play Ukraine and Wales play Austria in the semi-finals. The winner of Wales v Austria will be at home for the final play-off.

The Guardian has reported that the new SA variant of Covid has now been named as Omicron according to a recent announcement from the World Health Organization. It should inform Munster now that they are staying for now in SA.
Ireland's Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has just said on RTÉ Six One News this evening that if the Munster Rugby squad return home to Ireland from SA; they have to do a home quarantine & take 2 more PCR tests as soon as they return home to Ireland.
Minister Donnelly has said that mandatory hotel quarantine is being put under consideration for anyone irregardless of status from any of the countries that have been hit with the SA variant of Covid. The Munster Rugby squad have said in a statement that they are all safe & well in Pretoria for now. They are hoping that they will be able to return home to Ireland once they don't get any positive Covid cases while doing their 2nd round of PCR tests.
