BBC iPlayer
First time I've used iPlayer for a while tonight and I notice that the logo bug in the top right of the programmes has changed. I assumed it was burnt onto them

If I'm not mistaken, the new logo is now appearing on 'new' on-demand programmes on iPlayer, but existing content with the old logo doesn't appear to have been re-encoded. I just checked a recent episode of EastEnders and it had the new logo, even though it seemed to be a 'clean' copy (ie not clipped from the live channel stream, which has had the new logo for a while). But I spot-checked a few old episodes of Doctor Who and they're all still using the old logo. Has anyone seen any examples of non-recent iPlayer content using the new logo? I'm pretty sure the logo is rendered into the video files, so it's unlikely.
I note little Britain has been added. I assume the ban has been removed!

Previous series of Interior Design Masters has been updated to new logo so I think they’re starting to add it to backdated content.

Yes it's back, with certain sketches removed. https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/comedy/lit...ewsupdate/

Indeed I just noticed. The titles to series 3 have also been changed resulting in one part being odd and stationary compared to the rest.
Glad to see it's made a return, as it's still brilliantly funny regardless.

IIRC the last time it was on iPlayer, only series 1 was available, this now includes all three UK series and Little Britain Abroad (but not Little Britain USA).

Dust. Anybody? No? Dust.

I didn't even know that was still going!

Yes, I find it very useful as my internet is often too slow to stream online in high quality without buffering! The series record function is good too.

That takes me back. If I remember right when i player first started you could only download and not stream.

Firstly the old logo appears (like it used to a day ago), then that logo disappears and the text version of the new logo appears with a black and pink background that animates like those seen in trailers etc. for other parts of the BBC.

As was the case yesterday, the icon and the word 'iPlayer (BETA)' appear on the bottom of the menu once the app loads.

Sounds similar to the situation with iPlayer on Sky Q which has recently been updated. It’s a right mish-mash of old, interim and new.

The app icon still has the old iPlayer logo. The loading screen is now the new text-based logo. The next screen, on which you choose the user, has the 1997 BBC logo in the corner. When you pause a programme, the new BBC logo appears in pink in the corner. And when you go into the menu, you get the new iPlayer logo, complete with the new pink play icon.

What you described was exactly like the Fire Stick app was but tonight the choose user screen has now been Reithed and the BBC logo is now top centre (and the Reith one) rather than the top left corner like you described. Gradual progress incoming...

I notice they have the uncut version of Beam Me Up Scotty on there, the version on DVD has a fair bit edited out to cut out all the times they played the Star Trek theme tune (which rather unfortunately means we lose the gag of Klinger's "coffin" being cremated while the theme tune plays). Obviously they've been able to clear that for the iPlayer.

In some ways it's a bit sad watching that episode knowing that neither Gary Olsen or Roger Lloyd-Pack are still with us.
First time I've seen the new live stream interface on desktop. Good to see rewind/fast forward 20 seconds buttons added, similar things I found useful on other streaming websites but was not previously on iPlayer.

I can't remember what it was I noticed it on but it was definately something from before the logo change, possibly Peter Rabbit or Bedtime Stories (we mainly use iplayer for kids stuff in this house!). However a few days ago we had Bing playing and they all had the old logo.

CBeebies content does seem to disappear after the set number of days and only reappear when it's broadcast again, so maybe they're all being refreshed as and when that happens.

Of course it might be that programmes were always re-uploaded to iplayer when they went out anyway, and they're just getting the new logo as a consequence of that
