The entirety of GIR is receiving an upgrade to bring it up to modern times- as a result of this ITN are able to do the same.

As with any upgrade and with projects the size of these, it’ll take time.

We already know both itv and channel 4 newsrooms are receiving long overdue upgrades.

My understanding is that ITN will be 100% over IP by end of year.

Can I ask what IP is?

As others have said - internet Proptocol.

BBC Wales broadcasts over IP, and much of what NBH do is coming online.

Actually the majority of broadcasting during Covid was conducted over IP (internet, Cellular). 

It’s the way forward.
