That's not as was originally planned then, It was to have provided a core network service with regional changes of content and schedule to that, such as moving the Rugby League show into primetime, hence my suspicion of a soft launch with the proposed content changes appearing later.

We will introduce a tailored BBC One across Yorkshire, North West and North East England, with regional continuity and marketing campaigns that help audiences discover our most relevant programming and services.

It doesn't say anything to do with seperate programming.

However the rugby is a good example of a programme that already goes out in the northern regions only. It will essentially be an opt out as it is now, I would have thought it will be promoted better now though
