I thought this too - Channel 4 seems like a very odd place for wannabe Conservative leaders to set their stall out.  If this were a General Election or major referendum, I'd say sure.  I can only assume that it'll be a major test of scrutiny for the candidates.  I genuinely think they'd be better off having them grilled by Andrew Neil.

You gotta remember that the party membership as a whole will make the final decision, so these debates are more about appealing to the membership than anything else.
