Is this normal?It is unusual but not exceptional for the Breakfast weather presenter to be in the studio. Carol and Matt do appear from time to time. Owain clearly presents from the studio because he is based on that area but has generally presented weekend forecasts for Breakfast. I think Owain may have been covering for Matt (COVID) and so presumably covered the entire shift including post breakfast. When Simon King presented news channel forecasts this was from the NWT Breakfast studio I think but that isn't currently an option.
