That felt awkward to me. I felt like Charlene started talking too early and the camera wasn't on her yet. I do prefer the walk-on, but it is weird without the audience.This kind of show needs an audience IMO.

The lack of walk on is likely due to Brenda's broken leg.

This is indeed the reason, Charlene said slightly later, 'Part of the reason we are sat down is because of Brenda's leg'. So it could also be that they think it looks better.
