The News Desk for starters could be simulcast on Times Radio instead. The bulletin has brand values more associated with that radio station than with the culture wars led TalkRadio. The skill sets of Tom Newton Dunn and Kate McCann are more suited to that radio station than sharing an outlet with Jeremy Kyle, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan.
They should have utilised other stations such as Times Radio, talkSPORT and maybe even Virgin from the start. You mentioned The New Desk but I also think the Mark Saggers show is another case of this. It makes sense to have a sports show on a TV station but why simulcast that on talkRADIO? Especially since they have two sports stations available.
I think the issue with Saggers is that talkSPORT have sports rights for that timeslot most weeks. It could be argued that it could be simulcast on talkSPORT 2 and TalkTV (TV) with a radio show on TalkRadio.
