People are clueless. Millions will be watching BBC 1 SD thinking it's HD, because the telly is a great big 65 inch flat screen
As said, having the HD channels hidden away down the EPG means many are blissfully unaware they are watching SD.
Having no regional BBC on HD doesn't help either. How many switch back to HD for the One Show?
In my opinion, something like "if you're on Freeview, tune to 101 - if you don't see anything after a few seconds, you need to take action" might work? Communicating the change will probably be tough but I don't think it's undoable
