It lacks wit. GB News seem to have stumbled across a formula that works for them by using comedians for their paper reviews. The Talk with someone like Frank Skinner could be a winner.
One thing we don't really have is a nightly sideways look at the news. I know there's some nights that isn't going to be possible but there must be a market for a nightly John Oliver or Russell Howard look at the stories of the day. (Both of course have ripped on GB News on separate occasions.)
I'm not suggesting it has to be on either of those networks either, principally because to work you've got to be able to lay in to all sides, eg. Starmer should be as fair game as Johnson (merely an example.) I'm strongly of the opinion that either everything is OK to rip on or nothing is, but you do have to read the room.
