Why am I not seeing a loss of picture quality when Leeds and its SD infrastructure goes into circuit? Is upscaled SD indistinguishable from HD these days?
On BBC One West HD, also via Virgin Media, the reduction in picture quality is very noticeable when they soft opt, at least on my TV. When I was watching the 6 and 10 last week to see the new look studio B I was initially underwhelmed by picture quality until I realised it was because the start and end were both in SD.
I can only see BBC South in SD at present, one thing noticeable last night when they soft opted at 22:29, was the audio dropped by about 10 dB !
