I know I’ve mentioned how bonkers I think this is previously, but Richard and Ranvir sat socially distanced for the entire show yesterday, then proceeded to sit right next to each other for the final item!
Quite what makes the corner of the studio or the sofa area a Covid-safe zone in comparison to the desk I do not know.
I think the remaining social distancing is purely related to the size of the desk and not knowing what to do with it in ‘normal’ times rather than anything else.
I can’t help but agree with others that the show is coasting; who was the last new guest host they tried? I think Susanna is excellent and doesn’t even necessarily need a co-host, but they need to find a replacement for Piers or make it Susanna’s show permanently and really own it. At the moment there’s no real format or USP to promote it with.
We very rarely get ratings anymore but would be very interested to see how the program is doing, and particularly whether it’s rating above Daybreak v2 levels of 600-700k.
