The clearing of the schedules of the Resorts World Arena is not speculative, it’s on purpose. Birmingham has cleared the schedules for the Resorts World arena specifically to bid for Eurovision it’s been reported by many media outlets including from the Mayor of the West Midlands.

It’s the same arena that hosted ITV’s Concert for Ukraine a few weeks ago.
Of course the Resorts World Arena is not in Central Birmingham, unlike the NIA (Now Utilita Arena) where 1998 was held. (Nice fact is that yesterday marked 30 years since ITV’s Gladiators started filming there)
There’s a lot of comment on Social Media that the Resorts World Arena is the poor relation due to it not being centrally located, though it is marginally bigger than the NIA. One big advantage is that the NEC is right next door, which has oodles of space for press conferences and the likes.
So I’d say Birmingham stands a pretty good chance, the only negative is that it hosted it last time… but it might turn out to be the only viable option for the BBC.
