One thing Global's deep pockets show is there was absolutely no justification to wave through the destruction of local commercial radio at their request.

It enabled the smallest of their portfolio to survive the downturn of the late 00s/early 10s. Global were well ahead of networking stations by the time Bauer started snapping up small scale local stations to expand their Greatest Hits Radio network just before the pandemic and then had to rush launch a load of stations into it.

Local radio will grow on SSDAB, but I think that's a separate topic for Metropol.
