Stunning studio, and much more fitting for the flagship bulletins. Very European in style I think, and god it’s nice to see BBC News using something that’s new and fresh.
I do wish they’d have been brave and got rid of the newsroom view though, or at least used the opportunity to expand the newsroom/do something new with it.
A virtual extension of the upstairs balcony space fed into the screens would look fantastic, with the opportunity to add images relevant to the story.
I also think they could have gone for a rectangular desk rather than a horseshoe shape, it looks a little peculiar when everything else is square.
Thinking about it, a rectangular desk with a diagonal side for the guest would have looked really good IMO (a bit like the basic shape of GMB’s desk, which is ironic given how much I hate that thing!).
Agree with others it’s all rather bright too, but I’m sure they’ll tweak that - some deep blue lighting would really make it. Maybe it could even darken slightly as the program went on?
