I don't recall Southern ever having a Saturday teatime local bulletins, it was normally a cartoon straight after the ITN news. In fact I don't recall any local news at the weekend during Southern's tenure.
On weekdays the lunchime and 22:30 bulletin was presented by the duty CA. That all changed with TVS. They had one of the news presenters or reporters reading the news, and at that point a Saturday teatime bulletin was introduced. It always seemed to be read by Peter Clark. I can’t remember whether there was any sports news, possibly nothing much beyond a caption with local football club match results?
For a couple of weeks in January 1982, TVS had NewsBrief I think it was called at 09:30 Saturday mornings. Included weekend travel news. That was soon ditched!
