Saturday evening regional news and sports programmes in the 80s and 90s
#17
I think the example you're looking for was on TV Ark. The legendary Brian Baines introduces Look North Saturday over the COW, presented by Michael Cook(e), who hands to Brian in vision for the news before presenting the sport round up.

Unusually for a short bulletin it doesn't seem to be self-op.

Seem to recall it using clichéd cheesy library music rather than the regular Look North/Sixty Minutes theme

As has been mentioned, John Boyd from Radio Leeds presented it for a while, alongside Radio Sheffield's Dean Peppall.

Peter Levy used to get a lot of ribbing for being a workaholic but Boydy was perhaps unique as a sports journalist who didn't (otherwise) work on Saturdays - he did breakfast radio bulletins (into York, Humberside and Sheffield as well as Leeds) and Sunday afternoon Rugby League coverage as well as Tuesday and Wednesday evenings often networked within Yorkshire, although by the time he was doing Look North he may have moved to the Radio Leeds mid Morning show and dropped most of his sport commitments apart from the Sunday RL show.
Write that down in your copybook now
