But if they just let it die quietly on the channel it's been airing on for a decade you'd probably say that was shameful too.

Shameful for a different reason though, for example if 10 allowed it to die. If Neighbours had continued on 10 in the same vein with help I would have said it was a shame it ended that way, which is different.

The same would apply. It could be argued that getting rid of the CBBC block contributed to shows ending and the BBC's record on programming for younger viewers is shameful. Not many people will be aware that CBBC is mostly repeats but more isn't made of this because kids can get content elsewhere and it's so far down the EPG for anyone to notice. They are also probably too busy watching their shows that replaced the CBBC shows.
