I doubt we'll be seeing much of any national news studio today with the media camped out on College Green.   Not sure where the result will come from - Conservative HQ I guess?

Perhaps then it would be a good time to phase it in so it's only used for the 'other news' slot at the end.

The BBC seem to be against big launches these days too!

Nobody decides to launch a new studio just because it's a big, unexpected, news day.   As others said relaunches usually come when the news agenda is expected to be quieter, often with a commissioned special report which isn't time sensitive.   And using a new studio for a round up of "other news" at the end of an OB isn't exactly giving it a "big launch".

Plus it's a Monday.  It feels like a long time since BBC News changed anything on a Monday.
