One thing there's very little footage of, if any, is Central East's coverage of the Kegworth Air Disaster a few weeks later when a B737-400 crashed onto the M1 in Leicestershire. Indeed, not that much exists online. We know both BBC1 and BBC2 did news flashes but there's not much of what ITN or Central did, despite it being one of the biggest stories Central News East ever covered. I am guessing Central would have played a major part in getting pictures to ITN there too given how (realatively) easy the disaster site was to get to from Lenton Lane.
I believe in 1985 the Manchester Runway disaster saw TV-AM supplying a lot of footage with both ITN and Granada unable to get anywhere near MAN due to traffic? Indeed, I seem to recall the IBA gave TV-AM a special pass to stay on air past 09:25 as ITN weren't in a position to pick up the coverage?
EDIT: The late John Myers mentions in his book that Border were supplying their footage to international agencies as well, I'm guessing a sat truck would have had to come on site to facilitate this?
