Am I right in thinking that Pier's show is made by his own production company? If so it's a very different situation to Andrew Neill as walking away from the channel has bigger consequences - there's staff and other contractual issues to consider.
The comparison to The Jack Doherty Show is more apt, he was co-owner of the production company.
If that's true, 6 weeks is an odd time to take off, if that's imminent he'll be back for the school holidays and the summer lull in TV ratings
